Jacksonville falls to UNF, 5-2

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Emese Sulyos and Nanar Airapetian won every match they were involved in, but it was not enough as the JU women's tennis team fell to rival North Florida, 5-2.

Sulyos improved to 4-1 on the season with a dominating 6-0, 6-0 win in No. 1 singles over Vanessa Sanchez. Airapetian was solid in the No. 3 singles match, winning 6-1, 6-2, over Lauren Cockbill. They teamed up in doubles for an 8-0 win over Cockbill and Florencia Torres.

"Emese and Nanar continue to play well and lead our team," said JU head coach Jarod Camerota. "The rest of the team has to come out ready to compete every time if we want to have a chance to win."

The Dolphins fell behind early, dropping the doubles point. Lena Willi and Megan Williams fell in the No. 2 match, 8-2, with Elizabeth Style and Katie Orr falling in the No. 3 doubles match, 8-0.

In singles play, Willi fell in the No. 2 match to UNF's Torres, 6-0, 6-3. In the No. 4 match, Robin Rogers defeated Williams, 6-1, 6-3. Styles fell at the No. 5 match to Carolina de Melo, 6-0, 6-0, with Keri Zwikker dropping the No. 6 match to Bojana Ducanovic, 6-0, 6-0.

The Dolphins are back in action on Wednesday against UCF at home. First serve is set for 3 p.m.
