Sophomore outside hitter Radka Dimitrova (Sofia, Bulgaria) led a potent Dolphin attack with 11 kills and a team-high 15 digs as JU captured its first Atlantic Sun conference win of the season, in a 3-0 (30-28, 30-28, 30-25) win over Jacksonville State, Friday evening at Swisher Gymnasium. The win was the third in four games for the Dolphins, improving their record to 3-10 overall and 1-1 in A-Sun play. The Gamecocks drop to 4-9 with a 0-1 A-Sun conference record.

JU's offense shined as junior middle hitter Brooke Ahrens (Benson, Ill.) had a game-high 16 kills and junior outside hitter Alesha Rodriguez (Cleveland, Ohio) added 14 kills as the two combined with Dimitrova for 41 of JU's 54 kills. Senior setter Carrie Bosworth (Centreville, Mass.) contributed with 46 assists and three of the Dolphins' nine service aces.

The Dolphins return to action on Saturday, October 6, when they take on A-Sun competitor Samford at 4 p.m, at Swisher Gymnasium.
