JU junior middle hitter Brooke Ahrens (Benson, Ill.) had a game and Dolphin season-high 25 kills with only four errors for a .500 hitting percentage to lead Dolphins to a 3-1 win over Mercer Friday night at Porter Gym. The win was the third in a row for the Dolphins as they improve to 5-10 overall with an impressive 3-1 in the A-Sun. The Bears drop to 13-10 with an 0-5 record in A-Sun conference play.

The Dolphins got double-digit kill totals from four players on the night. Sophomore outside hitter Radka Dimitrova (Sofia, Bulgaria) compiled 13 kills, while Dolphin mates senior middle hitter Jacyln Buran (Milwaukee, Wisc.) and senior setter Carrie Bosworth (Centreville, Mass.) chipped in 11 and 10 kills each. Bosworth also accounted for a team-high 19 digs and junior outside hitter Alesha Rodriguez (Cleveland, Ohio) added 16.

The Dolphins look to continue their winning ways in their next outing on Saturday, October 13, as they go to battle with Georgia State at 7:00 p.m. in an A-Sun conference contest.
