JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Senior outside hitter Radka Dimitrova (Sofia, Bulgaria) had 19 kills and six digs, while freshman middle blocker Shannon Welch (Brentwood, Tenn.) added 10 kills as JU fell to Florida International, 3-1 (30-22, 19-30, 28-30, 21-30), in match four of the Hampton Inn/JU Classic Saturday at Swisher Gymnasium. Dimitrova is just four kills away from being the third player in JU volleyball to reach 1,000 career kills.

Junior outside hitter Candice Rose (Mechanicsville, Md.) added nine kills and 11 digs, while freshman setter Erin Hickman (San Antonio, Texas) added 41 assists, seven digs, and six kills for JU, which falls to 1-5 on the season.

Adriana Fundora led FIU (5-2) with 17 kills and 15 digs, while Jessica Jones added 17 kills and hit .316 for the match. Jennifer Owens tallied 13 kills and Betsy Moreland dished out 59 assists along with nine digs.

In the early match, Wyoming defeated Baylor 3-1 (31-29, 30-21, 23-30, 30-27). Michele Rauter led the Cowgirls (7-2) with 26 kills and 10 digs, while Vanessa Latimer added 11 kills and 11 digs. Tisha Schwartz led Baylor (5-5) with 25 kills and 13 digs, and Andrea Vakulya had 19 kills and 12 digs.

The Hampton Inn/JU Classic continues tonight when Wyoming plays Florida International at 6:00 p.m. before JU takes on Baylor at 8:00 p.m.
