Volleyball Topped By Miami, 3-0, In FSU Classic

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Senior outside hitter Radka Dimitrova (Sofia, Bulgaria) had 12 kills and eight digs as the Dolphins (1-9) fell to the University of Miami, 3-0 (21-30, 28-30, 17-30), in the FSU Classic, Saturday morning at Tully Gymnasium. Freshman setter Erin Hickman (San Antonio, Texas) recorded a double-double with 30 assists and 10 digs, while junior outside hitter Kelly Ryals (Gainesville, Fla.) added 15 digs for JU.

Valeria Tipiana led the Hurricanes (9-4) with 12 kills and hit .370 for the match, while Leyre Santallella Sante added 11 kills and eight digs. Francheska Savage recorded seven kills and hit .429, while adding three block assists. Miami hit .485 in the third game en route to the victory.

Florida State won all three matches this weekend to claim the tournament title, while the Hurricanes finished second, winning two out of three matches.

The Dolphins return to action when they play at North Florida on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m.
