Volleyball Defeats Lipscomb, 3-0, for Eighth-Straight Win

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - One day removed from her first career double-double, freshman outside hitter Eva Stoilova (Sofia, Bulgaria) recorded 13 kills, 12 digs and four aces for her second-straight double-double, while junior outside hitter Candice Rose (Mechanicsville, Md.) had 12 kills in JU's 3-0 (30-19, 30-27, 30-24) Atlantic Sun Conference victory over Limpscomb University (3-17, 0-5), Saturday night in Swisher Gymnasium. Sophomore middle blocker Danielle Neville (Greenwood Village, Col.) helped JU's (9-10, 4-0 A-Sun) offense with eight kills and freshman outside hitter Petya Borisova (Sofia, Bulgaria) bolstered the defense with a team-best 13 digs.

Stoilova served for three aces in JU's 30-19 first game victory, while Rose led all players with six kills. Lipscomb fought hard in the second game, where senior outside hitter Kristen Peck tallied six kills and freshman outside hitter Katie Tigert recorded two aces. JU countered with strong defensive play from Borisova, who tallied 11 of her 12 digs in the second frame, and stellar play from freshman middle blocker Shannon Welch (Brentwood, Tenn.) who recorded four kills and a block assist, as well as JU's final two points, to give the Dolphins the 30-27 win in game two. JU took the final game, 30-24, to extend its winning-streak to eight matches, remaining a perfect 4-0 in the A-Sun.

The Dolphins travel to Savannah State on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 6:00 p.m. before hosting Troy State on Friday, Oct. 17 at 6:00 p.m. in Swisher Gymnasium.
