Aug. 25, 2005

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - - Having reached the summit in 2004, the Jacksonville volleyball team is eager to begin their quest for a repeat in 2005.

And it that quest begins on Friday as the Dolphins open the season with three matches at the Georgia Southern Invitational in Statesboro, Ga.

"I feel like we are ready to get this season started," said second-year head coach Kevin Paul. "We had a lot of success late last season, but we can't focus on that anymore. Our focus now is on the season at hand and reaching our goals."

The Dolphins first match is against Atlantic Sun Conference rival Campbell at Noon on Friday. Jacksonville then faces Southeastern Conference foe LSU at 6 p.m.

JU wraps up its tournament against host and Southern Conference power Georgia Southern on Saturday at 4 p.m.

"This is a good tournament for us to start the season with," Paul said. "These three matches are going to be a good test for us to see where we are and where we need to go."
