JU head volleyball coach Kevin Paul relieved of duties

April 7, 2006

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jacksonville University Director of Athletics Alan Verlander announced today that Kevin Paul has been relieved of his duties as head volleyball coach, effective immediately.

"The University and I want to take the volleyball program in a different direction," Verlander said. "The volleyball program has been very successful in the past, and it has the potential to reach new heights."

In his two seasons as head coach at JU, Paul had a career record of 30-28 and led Jacksonville to the Atlantic Sun Conference title in 2004. He also served three years as an assistant coach at JU before being named head coach in 2004.

There will be a nationwide search for a replacement. No timetable has been set.
