Countdown to The Citadel: 11 Days
After a two-day break, the Jacksonville University Dolphins returned to practice Tuesday in preparation for the season-opener at The Citadel.
The team seemed energized by the time off, classes started Monday, and coaches were working on refining technique throughout the session.
Practice notes: Special teams are getting a lot more work than early in camp and it is showing as place kickers seem to be getting acclimated to their surroundings. … senior quarterback Josh McGregor lofted a pinpoint-accurate pass to wide receiver Kendryk Boyd to beat near-perfect coverage by the defense. Boyd, a freshman, had his fair share of good days in camp and that apparently is carrying over to practice. … McGregor said he was “feeling good’’ after the short break but is a little apprehensive about classes this semester. “It’s going to be a little tough semester, to be honest with you,’’ he said. … the team will have its final scrimmage Saturday at D.B. Milne Field at 10 a.m. The public is invited.
