JU women's tennis swept by Troy
The Dolphin women’s tennis team was swept 7-0 by Troy on Sunday in Jacksonville. JU was unable to register a team point in a match for the first time all season. JU’s only success came in a doubles match. Gabriela Bartos and Natalia Melibeu squeaked out a win against a Trojan pair winning 8-7 (3). Dolphin freshman Aline Staudt lost for the second time in three matches after starting the season 6-0. She fell in her individual match 7-5, 6-2. JU freshman Harjit Gosal was the only Dolphin who was able to force a third set in their match. She was defeated 6-1, 1-6, 6-3. The Dolphins (3-6) have now lost three matches in a row. They will try to right the ship when they return to action on Wednesday, March 14th when they host Appalachian State. Match Results: Doubles 1. Staudt/ Bezerra vs Grymel/ Dorofeeva- Troy- 8-4 2.
