Baseball announces annual alumni weekend for Oct. 12-13
The JU baseball program will welcome back its past legends for the annual Alumni Weekend Oct. 12-13 at John Sessions Stadium.
The gathering, which grows every year, opens with a batting practice barbeque on Oct. 12 at 6:30 p.m. The alumni will have a chance to dust off it swings and meet the new 2013 squad.
The game will take place the next day at 12:30 p.m. and run six innings against the current squad to determine this year’s winner. The Alumni will scrimmage against one another for the remainder of the afternoon. There will be a lunch provided at the game and a bouncy house for the kids.
Fans and alumni will also have an opportunity to “cement” their names into JU history by purchasing a brick in the walkway to the new C. Peter Cost Hitting/Pitching Pavilion. A donation of $25 per player will secure the two dinners, a special edition JU camouflage baseball hat and alumni t-shirt. All participants will need to RSVP by Oct. 5.
All friends, family and spectators are welcomed to the event to get the first glimpse of the 2013 Dolphins’ team.
