Baseball excels in the classroom

JACKSONVILLE-- The Jacksonville University baseball program achieved a team grade point average of 3.32 for the fall semester of 2012. The Dolphins recorded their highest team GPA in recent history. The recent fall semester followed up the 2011-12 academic year in which the Dolphins finished with a team average GPA of 3.15.

Senior Jake Huxtable (Winter Springs, Fl.), and juniors Will Flor (Bloomington, Minn.) and Zachary Houck (Orange Park, Fl.) each finished the semester with a 4.0 GPA to lead the team.

“I am very proud of our baseball program for their outstanding performance in the classroom this fall,” said head coach Terry Alexander. “ Even though we have a young team, they have demonstrated the focus and the desire necessary to succeed in the classroom and on the field.”

The Dolphins begin the 2013 campaign on Friday, Feb.15 at 6:30 p.m. at John Sessions Stadium against the Radford Highlanders.
