Pierre won the meet with the second fastest 6K mark in school history at 21:47.32, helping the Dolphins tie for first place. The first-place finish was her second in a row after winning the FLRunners.com Invitational on Sept. 30 with a time of 17:35.20.
“Joane has progressed nicely throughout the season,” JU head coach Ron Grigg said. “If things go according to plan, the best should be yet to come.”
This is the second weekly cross country accolade for Pierre, who earned the honor last season on Sept. 22 after breaking the program’s 5K top time to win the UF Mountain Dew Invitational.
Pierre and the rest of the Dolphins compete again on Oct. 29 at the A-Sun Championships in Nashville, Tenn.
