The Dolphins, 7-4 overall last season, begin the campaign with a Sept. 1 road trip to Statesboro, Ga., to meet the Eagles who were 11-3 in 2011. GSU made it to the NCAA FCS semifinals before losing to fourth-ranked North Dakota State.
JU then travels to Division I Charleston Southern on Sept. 8 and plays the first home game of the season Sept. 15 against Webber International.
The team begins its Pioneer Football League schedule on Sept. 22 with a game at Dayton and follows with homecoming Sept. 29 against Marist.
Trips to Morehead State and Davidson begin October followed by a home game Oct. 20 against 2011 PFL co-champion San Diego.
The Dolphins have a bye week Oct. 27 and have their final stretch run beginning in Indianapolis at Butler on Nov. 3, the final road game.
The Dolphins end the regular season with games against Campbell on Nov. 10 and Drake on Nov. 17. Drake was co-champ last season with San Diego.
“This is a great schedule with a variety of interesting opponents,’’ interim Director of Athletics Joel Lamp said. “As we saw last year, the PFL continues to improve, we start with a tough Georgia Southern team and play a Division I school in Charleston Southern.’’
