The Jacksonville University men’s soccer team is set to play at least 17 games this upcoming season including nine at the Ashley Sports Complex.
The Dolphins (9-8-2, 5-2-1 A-Sun last season) will get their first taste of action on Aug. 14th when they travel to Tampa to take on USF for an exhibition. They will then follow that up with two more exhibition matches at home against Thomas and Flagler.
The season officially kicks off on Aug. 24 with the Mike Gibbs Memorial Tournament where JU will host Georgia State and Siena. A string of games against Florida schools follows as the Dolphins will take on FAU and FIU at home and then travel to Orlando to take on UCF in a rematch of last year in which the Knights defeated the Dolphins 2-1.
After four more nonconference games, Atlantic Sun play in 2012 starts on Oct. 5 as the Dolphins travel to Spartanburg, SC to face the USC Upstate Spartans for their first of eight conference games.
Northern Kentucky, new members of the Atlantic Sun, will travel to Jacksonville on Oct.14 for JU’s first home conference game. The Dolphins will play three more home games before wrapping up the regular season against cross-town rival UNF.
All JU home games will be played at the Ashley Sports Complex.
