Dolphins to be tested early in 2012 season
The JU women’s soccer team will be battle tested by the time Atlantic Sun play rolls around after enduring several tough tests on the road to start the season.
The Dolphins, who earned a share of the Atlantic Sun regular season title last season, will open their 2012 campaign on the road when they travel to Tampa to face the USF Bulls. The Dolphins then return home on Aug. 12 to host the Citadel for the first home game of the year.
JU will then embark on a grueling set of away games traveling to play FAU, FIU, and South Carolina.
"We look forward to this fall and the start of the season," said head coach Brian Copham. "We have a great group of returners coming back and are excited to add our incoming freshmen into the mix. Our schedule is setup to test us early and hopefully prepare us for the rigors of conference play."
Other highlights of the Dolphins’ nonconference season include home games against Navy, Georgia Southern, and College of Charleston.
The Dolphins first A-Sun game of the year will be on the road when they travel to Highland Heights, Ky. to face A-Sun newcomers Northern Kentucky.
JU has four home conference games including finishing the regular season hosting ETSU and USC Upstate.
With the regular season finished, the Dolphins will look to the Atlantic Sun Tournament scheduled to begin Oct. 27.
All home games are scheduled to be played at the Ashley Sports Comple.
