The JU track & field program continues to mold its roster for next season with the additions of Taylor Story (Memphis, Tenn.), Joanna Rinck (Biot, France) and Chynna Monica Chung (North Babylon, N.Y.) for the 2013 campaign.

Story, who spent 2012 at East Tennessee State, finished second during the A-Sun Outdoor Championships in the long jump behind junior Charlene Charles (Alfortville, France) with a leap of 19’1.25”. She also placed fourth in the 100-meter (11.89), 200-meter (24.71) and high jump (5’3.75”).

“Taylor’s versatility fits our team profile well,” JU head coach Ron Grigg said. “She will immediately impact our 4x100-meter relay, while she focuses on the short sprints and long jump.”

Joanna Rinck will enter this season as a freshman competing in the combined events for JU.

“Joanna is another versatile athlete who is committed to finding the upper levels of her abilities,” Grigg said. “She has good marks in the throws and high jump for us to begin working with.”

As a senior, Chung was the Nassau Suffolk Catholic High School Athletic Association champion at St. Anthony’s High School in the 100 and 200 meters. Her personal bests are 12.31 for 100-meter and 25.00 for 200-meter.

“Chynna Monica comes from a high school program with strong coaching and tradition,” Grigg said. “She will add depth to our short sprint group.”

The trio joins throwers Kree Clark (Conyers, Ga.) and Samantha Turner (San Antonio, Texas) and Kaitlyn Taylor (Fayetteville, Ga./jumps) who signed with JU earlier this year.
