Follow Jamey Salmon's quest for the U.S. Amateur title
At 1:45 p.m. on Monday, Jacksonville University senior Jamey Salmon will begin his quest for the most prestigious amateur title in the world as he tees off in the 112th U.S. Amateur Championship.
Held at the world renown Cherry Hills Country Club, Salmon will look to continue his hot play this summer that has seen him in contention in every amateur tournament in Jacksonville.
"This is a great experience for Jamey in one of the biggest, if not the biggest, amateur tournament in the world," said JU head coach Mike Blackburn. "He's been playing well all summer, the focus for him will be to stay in the moment and take each shot at a time."
The top 64 golfers after two rounds will advance to match play, with the winner earning an invitation to the 2013 Masters, U.S. Open and British Open.
