JU to face UNF in SunTrust River City Rumble match at TPC Sawgrass on Sept. 19

In an effort to promote collegiate women's golf and in preparation for the start of the upcoming season, rivals Jacksonville University and North Florida will face each other in a SunTrust Cup match on Sept. 19.

The match mirrors the format of the Ryder Cup and will be played on both the Dye's Valley and PLAYERS Stadium courses at the TPC Sawgrass.

"We are excited to start this event and promote our sport throughout the Jacksonville community," said JU head coach Jennifer Borocz. "This is going to be a great experience for both teams and will be a good test before we start our tournament schedule at the end of the month."

The morning round will compose of two matches - the front nine will be three alternate shot matches and the back nine will be three best ball matches on the Dye's Valley layout.  The afternoon will be six singles matches played on the world renown PLAYERS Stadium Course.

With a total of 12 points available,  it will take 6.5 to win the match. Should the match tie at six, each team will pick one player for a sudden death playoff, starting on the 17th hole at the Stadium.

Admission to the event will be free, with carts available for rental for fans to follow the action. Fans are also encouraged to join the two teams for lunch in the clubhouse, where the matchups for the singles matches will be announced.
