Women’s cross country places two on A-Sun scholar-athlete team
JU women’s cross country senior Morgan Keel and junior Svenja Meyer were each named to the A-Sun Scholar-Athlete team for their outstanding work in the classroom.
Keel (3. 68, exercise science) and Meyer (3.87, political science) each posted stellar GPA’s to represent the Dolphins on the conference academic team.
“We are very proud of the academic accomplishments of our program as a whole, but Svenja and Morgan have done an especially good job of excelling as both a student and an athlete,” JU head coach Ron Grigg said. “We are grateful for the recognition.”
In 2012, Keel ran a career-best time of 18:51.3 (26th) at the A-Sun Championships. She also posted the 13th fastest 6k in program history with a 23:14.8 (23rd) at the FSU Invitational. Off the track, Keel has earned three A-Sun all-academic and Dean’s List honors for her work in the classroom.
