The Dolphins (4-7) hosts A-Sun newcomer Northern Kentucky in the opener before playing Lipscomb two days later in the Arena on Jan. 2. Both contests will tip at 5 p.m.
It will be a grueling start to the A-Sun schedule overall as the Dolphins will play six conference games in a 15-day period.
“We are looking forward to starting conference play,” JU head coach Jill Dunn said. “We have played a very competitive non-conference schedule to get us prepared. We know now every game will help or hurt us in reaching our ultimate goal."
The Dolphins will look to break a two-game losing streak after falling at Auburn, 85-49, before Christmas. Freshmen Briona Brown (13) and Queen Alford (10) each scored in double-digits for JU.
Despite the loss, the Dolphins finished with at least four wins in the non-conference slate for the sixth time in the last seventh seasons.
The Norse (3-6) begins their first A-Sun schedule following a 71-55 win at home against UNC-Wilmington on Dec. 20. NKU has won three of the last five games entering the conference slate.
Kayla Thacker is leading the Norse offense with an 11.4 average. Tiara Hooper is second with an 11.3 clip and holds the rebounds lead at a 6.6 average. Thacker also leads the Norse in steals (19) and ranks second in rebounds (5.6).
This is the first meeting between the two schools. The Dolphins are 2-11 in A-Sun opener with wins against Stetson to start the 2010-11 season and Florida Gulf Coast in 2008. JU is 2-5 in the first game against the last seven A-Sun newcomers.
