Former Dolphin Sara Bendorf to continue career in the Premier Volleyball League
Former Jacksonville volleyball player Sara Bendorf will laces up her sneakers again to continue her career professionally with Seattle’s Puget Sound in the Premier Volleyball League.
Bendorf, an outside hitter for JU from 2006-08, is one of 17 players on the squad that is looking for a return trip to the PVL National Championships.
The USA Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is a professional volleyball league made up of teams from among the 40 Regional Volleyball Associations across the United States. The PVL is an adult High Performance initiative based on the USA Volleyball Region system, but operates under a professional sports model.
During her time at JU, the Washington native led JU to consecutive 20-wins seasons during the 2007 and 2008 campaigns. She recorded more than 200 kills each of the campaigns to earn second team all-conference honors. Bendorf finished her career sixth all-time in kills with 1,006.
Bendorf graduated from JU in 2009 with a bachelors’ degree in accounting.
