Dolphins fall 11-5 in series finale

Jacksonville, Fla. -- Once again plagued by the big inning, the Dolphins (1-2) lost to the Radford Highlanders (2-1) 11-5.

Scott Schaub (Ocala, Fla.) opened the bottom half of the 3rd inning with a single to left and Jake Huxtable (Winter Springs, Fla.) lined a two run HR to left to stake the Dolphins to a 2-1 lead.

That lead was short lived as the Highlanders scored eight runs on five hits and three costly Dolphin errors in the top half of the 4th inning. Radford added two runs in the top half of the 6th inning to close out their scoring.

The Dolphins scored a single run in the bottom of the 8th inning when Braddock Rowe (Jacksonville, Fla.) singled scoring Huxtable from second.

The Dolphins scored twice in the 9th inning highlighted by an RBI triple off the bat of Josh Baker (Sussez, Wisc.) that scored Ethan Loosen (Uniondale, NY). The Dolphins rounded out the scoring when Baker scored on a ground ball by Nathan Koslowski (Jacksonville, Fla.).

. The Dolphins will be back in action on Tuesday as they head to Tallahassee to take on the 11Th ranked Florida State Seminoles. The action can be heard live on 92.5 FM at 4:00 p.m., as Terry Norvelle will be on the call.
