JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The JU women’s track & field team kicks off its outdoor season this Friday and Saturday at the UNF Spring Break Open
The Dolphins’ quest to repeat as Atlantic Sun outdoor champions for the eighth straight time begins only a short across town at the University of North Florida campus. They will look to make the transition to the outdoor surface after capturing their eighth straight indoor title last weekend in Johnson City, Tenn.
“The UNF Spring Break meet is a very low-key opener for us,” said JU head coach Ron Grigg. “Coming off of last week’s emotional indoor championship, we really haven’t even had time to transition back into training. For a small group of our athletes, this is an opportunity to compete in some events that aren’t contested indoors like the discus, and the 400 meter hurdles. Then we will mix and match our personnel and try to run two fun but quality 4 x 4s.”
The scaled back meet has the Dolphins only participating in throwing events on Friday and three running events on Saturday.
