Jacksonville Tips Off A-Sun Tournament Thursday Night

The Game
Jacksonville (14-17; 9-9 A-Sun) beings its quest for the A-Sun Tournament title on Thursday with an 8:30 pm quarterfinal match-up with USC Upstate (15-16; 9-9 A-Sun). The Dolphins tied for fourth in the regular season standings and earned the fourth seed in the tournament.

JU is looking to right the ship this week in Macon. The Dolphins enter the A-Sun Tournament having lost three straight by a combined 12 points following a 66-62 set back at Northern Kentucky on Saturday. Junior Keith McDougald led the way for JU with 21 points and 13 rebounds.

USC Upstate is coming off an 88-56 win over ETSU last Friday. The Spartans have lost six of their last eight overall.
 
Series History
Jacksonville and Upstate split the regular season meetings this year with each team defending their home court. JU won the last meeting just two weeks ago 68-64. This is the first A-Sun Tournament meeting between the two teams.

With a win the Dolphins will face the winner of Wednesday’s Mercer & Lipscomb contest in the semifinals on Friday.
