Senior Charlene Charles of the women’s indoor track & field team will compete in the pentathlon at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark. on Saturday.
Charles is one of only 16 athletes in the country to qualify for the event after she posted a school record 4,049 points at the Sykes and Sabock Challenge Cup in State College, Pa. on February 2.
“Charlene has worked hard to earn her way into the NCAA Indoor Championships,” said Dolphin head coach Ron Grigg. “It is one of the hardest track meets in the world to qualify for, and certainly the hardest NCAA Championship to earn an invitation to. She will be surrounded by great competition, and will represent JU well.”
The pentathlon is scheduled to begin at 11:45 a.m. and continue throughout the day.
