ORANGE PARK, Fla. – Jacksonville University sophomores Natalie Schmett (Evansville, Ind.) and Jessica Welch (Lavonia, Ga.) both fired identical totals of 228 over the three-day event to place 30th at the JMU Eagle Landing Invitational that concluded Sunday at the par-72, 6,764-yard Eagle Landing Golf Club in Orange Park, Fla.

Schmett posted rounds of 73-78-77 and Welch posted 74-76-78 for a 12-over par 228 to finish 16 strokes behind East Carolina’s F. Gustafsson Pang who claimed individual medalist honors with a 4-under par score of 212.

The Campbell Camels recorded a 21-shot victory over Mississippi State, which totaled a 27-over par 891. East Carolina (897) placed third and was followed by tournament-host James Madison (903), and East Tennessee State and Chattanooga, who tied for fifth with 904 totals.

Junior Francesca Yong (Malaysia) recorded (75-76-81) for a total of 232 for a tie for 48th. Senior Gaia Olcese (Milan, Italy) fired (86-75-77 – 238) to finish in a tied for 72nd. Carlie Gehlhausen (Noblesville, Ind.) finished with (86-82-81- 249) to finish in 89th place.

JU finished play with a three-round total of 62-over par 926 to finish 13th overall.
