Dolphins in second after round two of the Bash at the Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC.--- Brett McKinnon (Glace Bay, Nova Scotia) continued his best golf of the spring to lead the JU Men’s golf team to second place after the second round of the Bash at the Beach golf tournament in Myrtle Beach, SC.

McKinnon fired 2-under par 69 to lead the JU Men’s golf team at the Surf Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, SC. McKinnon (70-69 – 139) is tied for fourth in the individual portion of the 54-hole tournament.

Cyril Suk (Bradenton, Fla.) fired his second consecutive 70 to sit in a tie for eighth place (70-70 -140) after 36 holes of stroke play.

Nick Torrance (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) followed up his opening round 72 with a 1-under par 70 (72-70 -142) tying him for eleventh.

Colin Monagle (Jacksonville, Fla.) covered the par 71 Surf and Golf Beach Club course in 1- over par 72 for the second consecutive day to tie him for seventeenth (72-72 -144). Rounding out the scoring for the Dolphins was Jamey Salmon (Jacksonville, Fla.) who (72-78 -150) is tied for 38th place.

The Dolphins are in second place with a team score of (284-281 – 565) trailing Radford University who opened with a (281- 274 -555). The Dolphins have a nine shot lead over third place competitor Western Kentucky University.

The tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday.
