Dolphins go on the road for the first time in conference play

The JU softball team travels to Johnson City, Tenn. to take on the ETSU Buccaneers for a three game series starting with a doubleheader on Saturday. 

The Dolphins (16-8, 2-1 A-Sun) enter the matchup coming off a 2-1 series win over Lipscomb in the conference opener. 

Leading the Dolphins is senior catcher Sarah Simon who is batting an impressive .406 with a team leading eight home runs and 21 RBI.

The Bucs (7-12, 0-3 A-Sun) limp into the weekend having lost six straight including being swept by Mercer in their Atlantic Sun opening series. 

ETSU is led by catcher/third baseman Jackie Baird.  She has 22 hits in 19 games and is batting an even .400 on the season with 11 RBI. 

JU outscored ETSU 14-2 in two wins over the Bucs last season. 

Saturday’s doubleheader is set for 1 p.m. with the series finale at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
