Dolphins Host Upstate for A-Sun Clash

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—Following a midweek sweep of Cornell, the JU softball gets set to host conference foe USC Upstate in a three-game series Friday and Saturday at the JU Softball Complex.  The doubleheader on Friday is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. with series finale on Saturday set for 1:00.

Both teams enter the weekend with identical 5-1 Atlantic Sun records and sit tied for second place in the conference standings behind undefeated Florida Gulf Coast.  The Dolphins (21-8) come into the matchup riding a six-game winning streak with its latest two wins coming last Wednesday night when they swept Cornell in rain-delayed doubleheader.  The Spartans (21-3) have reeled off five straight conference wins after faltering in their opener against UNF.  In their most recent outing, Upstate was defeated by the third ranked Florida Gators 11-0 on Wednesday night in Gainesville.  The Dolphins fell to the Gators 11-3 in Jacksonville on February 13.

Upstate holds the all-time series lead at 6-5 with both teams splitting their pair of games last season.
