A-Sun Player of the Week Honors Go To Tobin and Orashen
Dolphins sweep weekly awards for a second straight week
MACON, Ga. – Jacksonville women’s lacrosse swept the Atlantic Sun Weekly Honors for a second straight week as junior Brit Orashen (Lebanon, N.J.) and senior Karli Tobin (Moorestown, N.J.) were honored on Monday afternoon.
Orashen was named the Offensive Player of the Week following a perfect afternoon at Kennesaw State when she scored four goals on four shot attempts in a 22-2 win by the Dolphins. She also added four ground balls and three draw controls. Named the A-Sun Defensive Player of the Week last wee, this marks the third career weekly honor for Orashen who currently ranks second in the league in ground balls per game (3.09) and draw controls per game (2.91)
Tobin takes home Defensive Player of the Week this week after anchoring a balanced defensive attack by the Dolphins in the cage. In 37 minutes of action, the JU goalie didn’t allow a single a goal as Dolphins earned the victory in the first A-Sun contest ever played.
A-Sun play continues this weekend for JU which plays host to Stetson on Saturday at 3:00 pm.
