Dolphins looking to extend three-game winning streak

– The Jacksonville men’s lacrosse takes a three game winning streak and a perfect 3-0 conference record on the road this Saturday as the team travels to VMI for a 12:00 pm contest.

The Dolphins (5-3; 3-0) enter this weekend tied for first in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference with Marist.

“Our work ethic every week this season has been great,” said JU Head Coach Guy Van Arsdale. “It’s that work ethic and attitude that our guys are bringing everyday that is really mature and they have been doing a great job getting ready to play throughout the week.”

“They are working hard in the weight room, working hard looking at film and knowing the scouting report. It’s a lot of these little things that have helped make the difference in all the close games. We know every MAAC game is going to come down to the final few minutes, so having the confidence that we put in the extra work needed to win has been an advantage for us.”

JU extended its winning streak to three straight last week with another dramatic overtime win.

“We realize that our win last week against Detroit was no Picasso that we painted,” Van Arsdale said of his team’s 9-8 win last Saturday. “This week we have been working on getting a little more consistent with our ball handling and decision making.”
