JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—The JU track & field team has announced another addition to its recruiting class with the signing of Stormm Phillips out of Valdosta High School in Georgia.
Phillips will join the Dolphins next season with a multitude of accolades on her resume. This past weekend she won the Georgia 6A State Championship in the long jump with a personal best jump of 19’ 4.25”. Phillips was also a finalist in the 100 and 200 meter dashes. She has personal bests of 12.01 in the 100, 24.37 in the 200, and 56.12 in the 400m.
“Stormm is the definition of the ‘total package,” said Dolphin head coach Ron Grigg. “She is an A student in the IB program at Valdosta H.S, voted homecoming queen by her classmates, and is a three sport standout in softball, basketball and track. She scored over 1400 points in basketball, and she can do it all on the track. She sprints and jumps equally well, and has even tried the heptathlon. We are excited for the impact she will make on Jacksonville University and our program.”
Phillips marks the third signing so far in the current recruiting class and will look to make an immediate impact as the Dolphins will be on the quest to capture their 17th straight Atlantic Sun indoor/outdoor title. You can view her track stats by clicking here.
