Excitement Builds For Anderson As MLB Draft Begins Thursday Night
The Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft begins tonight starting with the Draft preview show on and MLB Network tonight at 6 p.m. ET. Live Draft coverage from MLB Network’s Studio 42 begins at 7 p.m., with the top 73 picks being streamed on and broadcast on MLB Network.

Jacksonville ace Chris Anderson is being projected as a late first round selection, earning recognition as one of the top 10 pitchers in the draft from several national scouting experts.

“I have a lot of excitement right now,” said Anderson in an interview with Richard Miller of Miller on Sports earlier this week.

“I’ve been getting ready for this day to come for a couple of years, so I feel good that I’ll be ready for it.”

With several major league scouts flocking to the Jacksonville campus for his starts this season it would be difficult to predict what organization Anderson could be draft by.

“I can honestly say that I’ve heard from pretty much every major league team this spring and a number of them have shown some pretty serious interest. I think it will be whoever feels that I’ll be a good fit, but no matter who calls my name I’ll be ready to go.”

Rounds 3-10 will be streamed live on on Friday, beginning with a preview show at 12:30 p.m., and Rounds 11-40 will be streamed live on on Saturday, starting at 1 p.m.’s coverage includes Draft Central, the Top 100 Draft Prospects list and Draft Tracker, a live interactive application that includes a searchable database of Draft-eligible players.
