Black Recognized As MAAC Defensive Player of the Week For A Second Time
Third straight week a JU player has won the award
EDISON, N.J. – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference recognized Jacksonville’s Tyler Black (Jupiter, Fla.) as the men’s lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. The award is the second this season for Black and marks the third consecutive week the Dolphins have had a player win the honor.
Black helped the Dolphins to remain a perfect 3-0 in the MAAC with a thrilling 9-8 overtime win over Detroit on Saturday. He caused five turnovers and recorded four ground balls increasing his overall season totals to 16 caused turnovers and 27 ground balls.
The JU junior also was recognized on March 18, while junior goalie Pete DeLuca (Millersville, Pa.) was honored last week.
Jacksonville returns to action at VMI this Saturday.
