Dolphins to get tough test on the road

Getting their first win of the season will be a tall task for the Dolphins tonight as they travel to Orlando to take on the perennial NCAA Tournament participant UCF Knights.

The Dolphins (0-5-0, 0-1-0 A-Sun) and new head coach Ryan Pratt are still searching for the first win of this young 2012 season.

A team with 16 newcomers and no seniors came into the season with expectations that there would be growing pains as the group worked to become a cohesive team.  The growing pains have been no more evident than on the offensive end where the Dolphins have scored just one lone goal all season in a 2-1 loss against Siena.

If the Dolphins are going to get their first win of the season tonight, they are going to have to earn it.  UCF (2-2-0) has been a tournament team the past two seasons and boasts a team laden with upperclassmen full of game experience that JU sorely lacks.

The two teams played last season for the opener at the Ashley Sports Complex with the Knights prevailing 2-1.  Only four of the current members of the JU roster saw action in that contest.

The game is scheduled to be the second game of a double header at the UCF Soccer Complex on Friday night with a tentative kickoff set for 7:30pm.  Live stats and video will be available at UCFAthletics.com.
