Dolphins sweep Player of the Week honors

Sophomore Matheus Saroli and junior Gavin Carlin were named the Atlantic Sun Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week.

Saroli was named co-player of the week for his offensive explosion against Georgia Southern in the Dolphins’ first win of the season.  Saroli scored the game’s opening goal by zigzagging around a defender and beating the keeper with an excellently placed shot.  His second goal of the match was equally as impressive as he took a feed in the box and curled his shot around the keeper and into the side netting.

Carlin posted a 1-1 record on the week including a clean sheet in the win against Georgia Southern.  He had an impressive eight saves against the #28 ranked High Point University Panthers and kept the Dolphins alive for most of the match despite a 30-3 shot disadvantage.

The Dolphins will look to make it two wins in a row when they travel north to take on Hofstra on September 25.
