Women’s golf completes final round at Lady Paladin Invitational

The JU women’s golf team wrapped its final round at the 41st Lady Paladin Invitational in seventh place Sunday at the Furman University golf course.

Sophomore Jessica Welch carded a 4-over par 76 in the final round to place 15th to lead the Dolphins. Senior Gaia Olcese had the next best round for the Dolphins, shooting a 79 to finish 47th.

Junior Carlie Gehlhausen (44th), sophomore Natalie Schmett (52nd) and junior Francesca Yong (58th) rounded out the rest of the JU group.

Chattanooga won the tourney by finishing six strokes ahead of host Furman. Nova Southeastern, Samford and Mercer made up the rest of the top five.

The Dolphins return to action February 25 with the Sir Pizza Terrapin Challenge in Miami.
