Dolphins Head to Mercer For Series

The JU softball team hits the road this weekend travelling to Macon, Ga. to take on the Mercer Bears in a three-game series.  Friday’s matchup will be a doubleheader followed by the series finale on Saturday.

The Dolphins (23-10, 5-3 A-Sun) are coming off a midweek sweep of Elon in which the JU offense erupted for 18 runs and 27 hits in the two wins.  Victoria Brown, Ashley Simon, Karson Tuck, and Meagan Balding all hit home runs for the Dolphins.

JU leads the A-Sun in home runs so far this season with 35 averaging just over one a game.

The Bears (21-16, 9-3 A-Sun) enter the weekend having split a doubleheader with FAMU on Wednesday.  Their nine conference wins are the most in the A-Sun and this sit one spot ahead of the Dolphins in the standings.

The two teams split their season series last year while the Bears hold the all-time series lead 13-9.

Friday’s doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. while the lone game on Saturday is set for 1 p.m.
