Former Dolphin Walker Earns Midwest League Top Honors
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Former Jacksonville University baseball standout Adam Brett Walker II was tabbed the Topps/MILB Player of the Year for the Midwest League after a stellar season for the Class A Cedar Rapids Kernels this summer.

The 2011 A-Sun Player of the Year, Walker led the Midwest League with 27 home runs and 109 RBI in 129 games.

At Jacksonville, Walker landed on the A-Sun All-Conference team on three occasions as he was named a First Team All-American in 2011. An outfielder in the Minnesota Twins organization, Walker was selected in the third round of the 2012 MLB Draft.

Topps acknowledges the top performers throughout Minor League Baseball, including monthly awards and All-Star teams in each classification.
