Walker Homers In Twins Grapefruit League Debut
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Former Jacksonville University standout Adam Brett Walker II made the most of his debut with the Minnesota Twins in a Grapefruit League game on Saturday vs the Boston Red Sox.

Walker, who is ranked the Twins’ No. 14 prospect hit a two-run home run on the first pitch of his first plate appearance in a Grapefruit League game in the seventh inning. He added a double in the eighth inning to finish the Twins’ 7-4 win 2-for-2 wiht a run scored an a pair of RBI.

Drafted in the third round of the 2012 draft, the former Dolphin spent last season at Cedar Rapids Kernels (A Full) hitting .278  with 27 home runs and 109 RBI in 129 games. Named the Topps MID Player of the Year, he led the Midwest League in home runs, RBIs and total bases and ranked second in slugging percentage, runs scored and extra-base hits in 2013.
