Dolphins finish sixth at Atlantic Sun Championship
JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – The Jacksonville University women’s golf team finished sixth at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship held at the Par 72 (6198 yard) Pine Lakes Golf Club.

Jessica Welch (Lavonia, Ga.) led the Dolphins with (67-74-75 – 216) to finish in a tie for fourth in the individual competition. Francesca Yong (Malaysia) (74-78-78) and Natalie Schmett (Evansville, Ind.) (77-77-76) finished tied for 19th at 230. Carlie Gelhausen (Noblesville, Ind.) (75-79-77) finished tied for 24th at 231. Christina Paulsen (Ridgewood, N.J.) (80-80-84) finished tied for 43rd with 244.

The Dolphins team total of 907 was 13 shots ahead of cross town rival UNF who finished at 920 and in seventh place overall.

The ETSU Lady Bucs won the team competition with a total of 16 -over par 880. The Kennesaw State Owls finished second at 22 -over par 886. Ines Lescudier of Kennesaw finished the tournament at 6-under par 210 after closing with a final round tournament record 66 that included a 29 on the final nine.
