Golf Teams Participate in Youth Clinic at Sawgrass
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – The Tour Championship starts this week and runs Thursday through Sunday at the Dye’s Valley Course at the TPC at Sawgrass. The festivities aren’t just limited to the tournament though. Events have been held all week as the opening round approaches, and on Tuesday, the Jacksonville University men’s and women’s golf teams got in on the act by helping out at a local youth golf clinic.

With members of both Dolphin teams, as well as JU alum and tour player Russell Knox there to lend a hand, a number of young players got to tee it up and receive individualized instruction at the course’s driving range.

The clinic was a way for the Dolphins to give back, in addition to providing a break from the grind of daily practice. “We want to thank for their support and dedication to growing the game,” said head women’s golf coach Jennifer Borocz. “We thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to help with the youth clinic and support”

Knox will tee off at 12:31 p.m. in Thursday’s first round. On Saturday, he’ll be wearing Jacksonville gear on the course as part of the day’s college theme.
