Dolphin Duo Picks Weekly Honors After Another Scoring Spree
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A second straight week of lighting up the scoreboard for 69 points has netted another pair of Jacksonville University student-athletes weekly honors from the Pioneer Football League with Steven Hughes (Melbourne, Fla.) and Dylan Lynch (Jacksonville, Fla.) being recognized this week.
Hughes was named the PFL Offensive Player of the Week as he led Jacksonville to a 69-16 victory against Warner. Making his first collegiate start, he completed 15-of-20 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns while playing just 35 minutes. On Jacksonville’s first possession of the first half, Hughes threw two passes, the second a 58-yard touchdown strike. He would later add a 35-yard touchdown pass that pushed the Dolphins lead to 24-0 in the first quarter. Hughes was 9-of-11 passing for 184 yards and two touchdowns in that first quarter.

Lynch grabbed PFL Special Teams Player of the Week honors as he posted his second consecutive 15-point outing this past Saturday. He was a perfect 9-for-9 on PATs for the second consecutive week and has made a Jacksonville record 27 consecutive PATs. Lynch also converted both of his field-goal attempts, including a 42-yard kick. Lynch averaged 28 yards on two punts, including one downed inside the 20-yard line. His nine kickoffs averaged 64.9 yards per kick with five touchbacks.
