Jacksonville University men’s golf swings into their second match of the spring 2014 season on Saturday February 15th when they compete in the SunTrust Gator Invitational. The two-day tournament will be held at Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla. on a par 70, 6,701-yard layout.

The 14-team tournament features five top 25 teams according to the latest Golfweek.com rankings, including No. 8 Central Florida, and No. 9 University of Alabama Birmingham.
The complete field consists of: Arkansas, Coastal Carolina, College of Charleston, Florida State, Florida, Georgia Southern, Jacksonville, Lamar, Liberty, Mercer, North Florida, UAB, UCF, and Vanderbilt
Florida State claimed the 2013 team title The Gator Invitational has hosted future PGA TOUR professionals Jonas Blixt, Chris Couch, Chris DiMarco, Billy Horschel, Jeff Klauk, Graeme McDowell, Alex Rocha and David Toms.
The Dolphins will try to keep momentum going after placing 2nd as a team on the final round at the SeaBest Invitational and 9th overall. Colin Monagle was the top finisher for Jacksonville at the SeaBest tying for ninth overall with a +7, 223 that included a final round 71. Monagle, Brett McKinnon, Prem Samritpricha, Connor Salanger and Nick Torrance also shot well for the Dolphins.
The first two rounds will begin with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning followed by round two at 1 p.m. The tournament finishes up with a shotgun start on Sunday morning starting at eight.
