MACON, Ga. – A pair of 3-2 successes over Mercer on Wednesday afternoon gave the Jacksonville University sand volleyball team its first season sweep of the spring.
In the first match, the Dolphins (6-12, 4-2 A-Sun) claimed three-set wins at the No. 2 (Niatha Cullen and Kendall Courtney) and No. 4 (Gabriela Roman and Mayara Prestes) seeds, and a straight-set victory at the No. 1 (Sammie Strausbaugh and Taylor Nyquist) pairing to seal the first 3-2 victory of the day.
Later, JU again spoiled the Bears chance of a two-match split as they knocked off the team in straight sets at the Nos. 1, 2 and 4 flights.
Jacksonville concludes Atlantic Sun action on Wednesday, April 9 in a home matchup with River City rival North Florida.
