No. 3 Fins to Face No. 2 Stetson in A-Sun Tournament
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville University sand volleyball is slated to compete in the third Atlantic Sun Sand Volleyball Tournament April 18-19 in Fort Myers, Fla. Florida Gulf Coast is hosting this year’s tournament at Estero Community Park.
No. 3 Jacksonville (7-13 overall, 5-3 A-Sun) is scheduled to face-off against No. 2 Stetson (14-3, 6-2 A-Sun) on Friday, April 18 at 11 a.m. in match 2.
No. 5 FGCU (2-16, 0-8 A-Sun) and No. 4 Mercer (8-11, 2-6 A-Sun) will compete in match 1 at 9 a.m. The match 1 winner will play No. 1 North Florida (16-5, 7-1 A-Sun) at 1 p.m. while the match 2 loser will compete against the match 1 loser at 3 p.m. to round out Friday.
North Florida is the two-time defending champion and are coming off its second straight regular-season title. Jacksonville was the only team to defeat UNF during the regular-season. The Fins beat the Ospreys 3-2 on April 9 in the second match of the day.
Competition will finish on Saturday, April 19.
