Women’s Golf Adds to New Recruiting Class
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Head Coach Jen Borocz has added to her incoming freshman class with the addition of Shania Berger, a native of Socorro, New Mexico. Berger becomes the second player to sign on with the Dolphins for the 2014-15 season, joining Maria Juliana Fueyo.
“Shania will be a great addition to our program,” said Borocz. “She works extremely hard on her golf game and in the weight room. Shania will make an immediate impact and push the rest of the team to give their all. She is also a good student and will represent Jacksonville University with the highest of professionalism.”
Currently still competing in her senior season, Berger is already a three-time district and state champ with her school. Individually, she’s been named all-district and all-state on three occasions. Outside of school, she’s twice been on the USGA Women’s State Championship Team and posted multiple wins on the Golfweek Junior Tour. She has also qualified for the Junior PGA Championship and three times competed in the Girls Junior America’s Cup.
Next year’s schedule will be finalized in the coming weeks. Check back for further updates regarding the Jacksonville women’s golf program.
