Schaub & Russell Capture All Conference Honors
MACON, Ga. - Senior infielder Scott Schaub (Ocala, Fla.) and junior pitcher Justin Russell (Jacksonville, Fla.) were each named to the All-Atlantic Sun Team in an official announcement by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.

Schaub was voted First Team All-A-Sun Third Base after ending the regular season ranked second in the nation with a .425 average and fifth with a .508 on base percentage. Simply known as THE Scott Schaub around the Dolphins clubhouse, the senior infielder leads the league in RBI per game having driven in a team high 45 runs this season in 44 games played. He is hitting over .530 with runners in scoring position and has record 21 RBI in the last 15 games alone. In addition he is an Academic All-American nominee after he was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District IV Team earlier this season.

Schaub is the 20th First Team All-A-Sun honoree for the Dolphins since they joined the league for the 1999 season.

Russell was voted Second Team All-A-Sun as a starting pitcher. In his first season with the Dolphins the RHP led the team with six wins and was twice named A-Sun Pitcher of the Week. The Sunday starter this season, he owns two wins over top 20 opponents having posted victories at #19 TCU and #6 Florida. On Apr. 13 he took a perfect game into the 8th inning on the way to a complete game three-hit shutout in a 1-0 win against conference regular season champion Florida Gulf Coast. Russell heads into the A-Sun post season with a 6-3 record and a 4.67 ERA.  

Jacksonville begins play at the A-Sun Tournament on Wednesday night against fourth seeded Lipscomb.
