Stephanie Edwards Named Graduate Assistant for Women's Basketball
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville University’s head women’s basketball coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin didn’t have to look further than her 2014 roster’s backcourt to find the team’s newest graduate assistant. Former captain and point guard Stephanie Edwards will join the Dolphins for a few more seasons in the GA capacity.

Assisting McCuin and staff in all phases of the program will be an easy task for the recent graduate who was newly accepted into the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s (WBCA) “So You Want To Be A Coach” 2014 class.

Edwards transferred from Santa Fe College in 2012 and spent the last two seasons with Jacksonville. Transitioning into a captain and starting point guard under Coach McCuin, the Miami native was a key component to the Dolphins earning the No. 4 seed in the Atlantic Sun. She played her best basketball in her senior campaign while ranking top in the conference in both steals and assists. Edwards earned her degree in sociology this past May and completed her career with 444 points, 201 rebounds, 169 assists and 90 steals.
